Area Guide

The most considerable and helpful spot in the vicinity on foot is the N Prescott St MAX Station, barely a minute from the motel’s door. This station is on the Yellow Line to take you to the rest of Portland: a 15-20 minute ride to Rose Quarter, the downtown core, Old Town, and the Pearl District. Very convenient for exploring the city without a car. This spot is known for its key feature: the transit connection.

Within close range, options are confined to simple needs. Some fast-food joints like Taco Bell and McDonald's are just a five-minute walk away, offering quick and cheap meal options. For drinks and snacks, there is a Plaid Pantry convenience store as well. The setting is mostly commercial and residential and has been constructed around the busy Interstate Avenue. This is not the place to find the charming cafes, boutiques, and unique restaurants for which Portland is famous.

A 15-minute walk takes you to Peninsula Park, a sunken rose garden, and a community pool - truly a beautiful, though somewhat hidden, gem of Portland's park system. This affords an opportunity for escape from the rather gritty setting of the motel area. But watch yourself if you're going to walk the area at night. Do not walk the neighborhood at night.
